Hiding Global Messages

Are there any clients out there that allow a user to hide a server's
Global messages?

I use IRC to access a single channel which doesn't get much activity.
And I use a laptop which I open and close a lot, disconnecting me
every time. Therefore my chat window is almost always just full of
Global messages from the server, telling me its message of the day
every time I reconnect.

If there is a way to hide those and just keep the channel window full
of chat, it would be much appreciated. I'm also interested in hiding
join and part messages/notifications, but that's less important.

I'm currently using HexChat but I'm more than willing to switch to
another client.

Hi - not sure if you've tried mIRC but it has many options for
selecting which messages you want to see or hide in what windows
(status/channel/nick etc).

From https://hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/settings.html something
like running the command `/irc_skip_motd on` should do what you're
after (it's either "on" or "1", I can't remember which HexChat
understands).
