Getting full Twitch experience in irc client reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dstarfire · 2020-02-24 22:50 A few twitch streams show a transcript of chat with full emotes, badges, etc. that I'm sure is pulling from the IRC channel (regular chat has delay, transcript/irc does not). How do they do it? I've tried a couple of different scripts (twitch@adiirc, mTwitch) that can supposedly recreate the main features, but they're no longer supported (by their creators)and don't change the appearance of chat at all. I think it's because twitch changed how the system work a while ago and the scripts haven't been updated to support the new system. Is there a still-supported tool that can translate the twitch data into the various badges, emoji's and stuff? What about @username autocompletion? note: I've also used mirc in the past (remember playing around with sysreset years ago). I'm just using adiirc now because it looks better with Twitch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 4yolo8you · 2020-02-25 00:40 I guess by transcript you mean the chatboxes rendered on the video, if so, that's almost always an OBS (streaming software) plugin by Streamlabs, just like most donation popups etc. Idk, and you may want to double check it, but my guess is it's all black box, proprietary and delivered as HTML. I tried some of the IRC Twitch client solutions long time ago, emote translation seems easy in theory after all, but didn't find anything workable. Sorry, maybe someone else will be able to help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dstarfire · 2020-02-25 00:54 Yes. That's exactly what I was talking about. Disappointing to discover it's a proprietary thing. I assumed since Twitch talks about running chat bots through the irc server, the chatbox used the same functionality. I'll hit up the stream labs folks, see if maybe they've got something.
