I recently published CoreIRC to the Play Store because I wasn't satisfied with the options that are currently available. You can find it at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.aureolin.coreirc CoreIRC was built using Material Design components to make it look modern and it's also got some IRCv3 features implemented like CAP 302 and SASL authentication. Receiving file transfers over DCC is also possible. I plan to add more IRCv3 features as time goes on. If someone sends me a message and/or I get a highlight, does it actually contain the full text of said message in the notification, or does it just do something like "You have x new messages"? IRC is generally not profitable unless you are offering a paid bouncer of some sort (like IRCCloud). The landscape of free IRC clients on Android is rubbish, I think. The only good clients are ironically the ones that connect to some kind of backend bouncer. Would love to have a irc client that wouldn't need to be connected in the background and would send me push notifications.
