Multiple Download Requests with Hexchat

I'm relatively new to Hexchat. On the main screen I sometimes see
multiple download requests appear so fast that it's obvious they are
being batched. I've tried entering several different requests as one
command, but only the first one is accepted and I get an 'aborted'
notice for the 2nd request, then nothing more. I've RTFM'd the
documentation provided and I've sent my research assistant, Dr.
Google, off looking for an answer, but no luck. Can anyone tell me
please how to enter multiple download requests at a time? Thanks...
