HexChat GTK Themeing - How does it work?

I wanted to suggest to another developer of a tool, how to enable the
same GTK theme possibilities that HexChat has, but I'm unable to find
the code to reference in HexChat's source. Nor am I able to find
anything specific online about it. I was hoping the HexChat devs might
be able to point out the section in their source code I can show this
dev as reference so he can enable the ability to allow gtk themes in
his own program.

I know its not technically IRC related, but I didn't see a HexChat
specific reddit or anything and every time I googled for HexChat gtk
help, it came back to this reddit.

You might want to try #hexchat on Freenode, though /u/TingPing has
been known to frequent these parts in the past...

Do you just mean the text box theming? Nothing about the text box is a
good example for modern code but it just does all rendering itself.

No I wanted to know how HexChat allows GTK themes. The entire program,
not the built in themes which just change the input and output areas.
I wanted to tell the devs of another program to ad GTK themes
capability to their tool, but I dunno what that involves.

It is just a normal GTK application so I don't understand the
question.

Hmm. I dunno anything about this sort of thing. I was trying to ask
some devs of another application to add themes to their thing, I
mentioned your program, HexChat, in reference to that.  I'm unsure if
they can just do something to make GTK themes work with their tool. I
guess if you want I can PM you and be more descriptive though. I was
trying not to get too into offtopic stuff here int his reddit about it
though.

Not right ow, mibbit or whatever couldn't connect to it and I don't
feel like trying to put all its required data into HexChat right now
to get a connection. I deleted all the servers in HexChat except the
ones I used. I'll try and get connected at some other time.

that's just because HexChat is built with GTK, the other application
is probably built with another framework like Qt or something
