Problems with Colloquy automatically scrolling text reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wahnfriedus · 2019-10-11 14:01 I'm using Colloquy, on a Mac that I just upgraded to Catalina. When a window fills up, it doesn't automatically scroll down, meaning I must manually scroll for any new messages. Anyone know if this is something that can be corrected? Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PraxTheBarelySane · 2019-10-15 15:40 I have exactly the same problem. Looking at Colloquy's site it doesn't look like they've updated it in a couple of years. So it seems unlikely that they're going to fix it anytime soon. Limewire works, though, so maybe try that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xbox666 · 2019-10-16 18:05 Damnit I am in the same boat! I hope they fix it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wahnfriedus · 2019-10-16 23:11 Glad to know it's not just me! It looks like Colloquy won't be updating it anytime soon, so I'm trying out Textual. It seems to be okay so far. I think IRC is so "old school" that no one is really maintaining the clients. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PraxTheBarelySane · 2019-10-17 00:34 Definitely agreed. The best IRC client I ever had was called Snak, but they stopped updating it, and a few years on it stopped working because it couldn't support some new protocol or something. I suspect we won't be seeing any new IRC clients, basically ever. Shame, as I rather like IRC. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wahnfriedus · 2019-10-17 01:22 Oh yeah.. I used Snak too :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PrahasDavid · 2019-11-10 16:54 Same error for me. :( Will research the other apps mentioned. TY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- daverivera · 2020-02-22 20:38 I've been having this problem on IOS for the last few months. Today I was playing with the Colloquy settings on IOS, trying to fix it. I was also running the Mac version at the same time (it did not exhibit this behavior). Naturally, the result of my effort has been that I am now having the same problem on the Mac version. Makes me wonder if there is an IRC setting at the root of this. Really frustrating. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ouxiNo · 2020-03-16 01:28 I have the same problem on macOS after upgrading to Catalina. Bummer! boo hoo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DarthWeenus · 2020-04-03 18:21 same here, no updates, no fixes. I thought the kids monkied with buttons. Glad to see its an actual issue.
