Help: Download speed drops to about 0 after about 15 sec reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-26 15:42 I tried to download files from nibl. My download speed starts at about 1 mb/s then drops in about 15 sec to 0 and aborts my download. What I tried: restart PC close anti virus programm disable windows firewall download from different bots use different clients (tried with mIRC) But none of the things above solved my issue. I am using HexChat v2.14.2 (acoording to the updater the newest version) \--- Edit: tried more things --- Edit 2: Ups, I forgot to mention, that the download works fine on my laptop. It is connected to the same internet connection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:08 Sounds like a problem with nibl rather than anything on your end. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:10 Ups, I forgot to mention, that the download works fine on my laptop. It is connected to the same internet connection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:13 Same version of hexchat? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:14 Yes, same bot, same file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:17 idk bots could be rate limiting if you're doing multiple downloads from the same IP - aside from that beats me ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:18 Well I tried it after not being able to download anything... + I tried other internet connections + different bots also didn't work for me ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:23 probably an issue with your network then, I'm assuming your laptop is using wifi and desktop using ethernet - not sure what could be causing the problem but I can't think of too many other things that could go wrong like that ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:26 My desktop is using wlan as only my mobile phone has infinite data. The other internet connection I tried on was my home connection and was connected via cable. I made sure only to have one connection active at a time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:33 What's the download speed on your laptop? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:34 2-3 mb/s ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ruby-rhed · 2019-04-27 14:46 And yet the desktop only downloads at 1 mb/s, could be a hardware issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sapi3nti4 · 2019-04-27 14:52 Maybe, the thing is that the download can never pick up. When I download from some file sharing site or stream videos I can reach that speed, but in this case the download speed drops after a few seconds.
