I developed this bot and am running it in a Docker container. It sees
heavy use in ##machinelearning and ##nutrition, etc. on Freenode.

Does it have to run in docker?

Not at all. When I test it for development purposes, I don't run it in
Docker. However, you'll have to see the `Dockerfile` in the repo to
understand which command to run exactly to correctly start the bot.
You will need a Python 3.7 based virtual environment with all packages
defined in `requirements.txt`. Unfortunately the instructions in the
readme don't go into how to run it without Docker, but it's a lot like
running a random Python application.

It's actually easier in many ways to just run it as a Docker
container. If you need help with Docker, I can help.
