[Hexchat]how do i prevent joining other channels?

I use hexchat for a while now. Everything works fine so far. But
yesterday i joined a channel which made me join another channel
without  asking me. Is there a way to "block" that?

That's usually a usermode, for example, if it was a channel limit, you
will want to set the usermode `+L`, You will want to consult your
network's documentation (if [snoonet](https://snoonet.org/umodes)).
You may also be able to find client scripts to prevent all kinds of
forced joins, but that is a lot harder to pull off.

I'm guessing you're talking about how freenode forces you into
channels when you don't have access to another channel.   Such as
being unregistered.   I get that it's super annoying and stupid, i
don't think you can prevent it.

thank you i will check out some scripts maybe i can prevent it that
way. But on the other side it's not a big issue. I just thought there
might be an easy way to disable it.

IIRC usermode +Q blocks forwarding on freenode.
