Best way to keep history of IRC Channel reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theeagle_ · 2018-12-19 02:53 I want to basically be always online in an IRC Channel. Mainly so I don't have to go find logs of what I missed while I was away. Running an IRC client on my laptop obviously doesn't do this because every time I close the lid I'm disconnected. Is there something like an IRC Proxy that I can run on a RaspberryPi on my network? Then connect to that from my laptop to see history/send messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zowlyfon · 2018-12-19 02:55 Yes!, look at ZNC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zowlyfon · 2018-12-19 02:56 There is a log module for ZNC, as well as a few other handy things such as supplying some history when you connect to it and automatically authenticating you with services. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theeagle_ · 2018-12-19 03:07 Thanks! I think this is exactly what I'm looking for ---------------------------------------------------------------------- theeagle_ · 2018-12-21 03:33 Follow up: I found The Lounge and tried that out. Really like it so far. Easy to setup and use. Suits my needs. Have it running on a raspberry pi 3 in my office. [https://thelounge.chat](https://thelounge.chat)
