Curiosity about download and ports in HexChat

Hi :)

Want to use hexchat to download files, so configured a port for dcc.
Enabled hexchat in firewall and port forwarded that port for the tcp
protocol.

Download works fine, my only curiosity is why during a download if I
check with a port scanner site, it says the port is closed... but I'm
downloading so I'm confused.

I tried a thing, I had to put in hexchat my true ip for download.
Before doing this in fact the download won't start. So I was accepting
the download request and after a few seconds the connection fails.

In the moment I accept the connection, the port result open...

So I'm curious, the port is open or not? How can I download if the
port result closed during the download?

upload and not for download?

it's the basic working of the internet. technically you need 2 ports
of course but only one of them is the serving port. why can you open a
website without opening port? it's the same reason why you can
download without opening port

Yes, but i use it for upload too, right? So why i need an open port
only for upload and not for download?

I mean, before i opened the port, the download won't start at all. So
i'm confused...
