What happened to the cool themes irc clients of old. They had tons if
included plugsins and themes. Do they still exist. I think they were
vased off of mirc.

Get irssi, it has a huge list of plugins and themes on its site.

it's gonna be a lot of change for you since none of it is click/menu
based... it's all commands. once you get the hang of it, though,
you'll find it much smoother, simpler, and better. I used mIRC from 97
until this past year for the most part, dabbing in irssi off and on
but always being turned away by the time it would take to learn and
set up... But i took the time this past year and, within a month, and
with some help of other people who use IRC, i would never ever ever
ever go back.

Those mIRC script were usually awful and annoying. Good thing they
aren't popular anymore!

the scripts and plugins turned out to be vulnerabilities (along with
dated clients)
that and the fall of popularity with the new gen internet made these
things "kinda disappear"
still around if you look tho but not like back in the day.
remember polaris and ircN??
