Anyone Remember 'The Zone'?

I know this is a long shot, but I've been searching for a few years
and come up with nothing... this is the only relic from my early
internet days that I cannot recover.

There was an old IRC channel.. I cannot remember the server, called
"The Zone". It was a general hangout for web nerds, ran by a guy I
believed called 'dos'. The circle they ran in had websites/blogs
pertaining to web design, software design, etc. (If you are from the
early 2000s you know the kind of e/n websites I'm talking about)

The channel had its own dedicated website ... thezoneirc.com or
something along those lines. Wayback Machine turns up nothing,
though...

If I can dig up anyone elses handles I'll drop them here- hopefully
this rings a bell for someone out there.
