Be careful when using Tor on IRC, some networks classify Tor as an
open proxy and ban it due to abuse. You should consider using a VPN
service instead if you want to help mask your IP address when
connecting to IRC.

Otherwise, it's *acceptable* to use, but I don't really recommend it.
