Can't load irssi?

I've followed the directions 100% for Windows.

Downloaded BOTH versions of Cygwin.

Opened mintty in /bin/

Typed "irssi" as the website states.

Receive this

>$ irssi

>bash: irssi: command not found

/help works fine of course

If you can't use a terminal, don't go for irssi. Use hexchat instead.

Thanks for the advice, but I've invested too much time to go back to
Hexchat.

Currently attempting to install Weechat. All dependencies are
downloaded.

All I have to do right now is compile this with Cmake and I should be
good to go.

This *will* be the hill I die on.

I don't even understand why are you using cygwin in 2018. Use msys2.
Irssi is in the repos. No need to compile anything.

Also if you have Windows 10, just use the Windows Subsystem for Linux
along with wsltty, which is what I do.

Oh no no let me explain: That's Ubuntu.

I'm following this:

I have met all prerequisites and followed directions.

My binary package is Ubuntu. My source package is CMake.

All required dependencies have been installed.

Now I'm on step 2.2.2.

However,

>make

and

>make install

Don't work which makes me think I'm using these commands(?)
incorrectly. You can see me typing away within the build folder
"make", "make install", etc.

I am NOT attempting to install Irrsi anymore, I like the look of
WeeChat much more.

I am attempting to install WeeChat.

I don't care if Irrsi is in the repos because it is not what I want.

I am NOT using Cygwin anymore. I am using Ubuntu. To attempt to
install WeeChat. NOT Irssi.

You could just switch to linux! much easier
