My HexChat looks like this all of sudden. Does someone know why?

This is strange. It looks like the Help menu as well as the contents
below were set to a language that is not supported by your system. Is
the Settings dialog in English? I would suggest ensuring that your
font is set to one that is installed on your system, which really
shouldn't matter.

Make sure that no other apps look like this.

No, everything looks this way, I can't even set another font.

But actually, it doesn't surprised me at first. I got a reputation for
screwing up windows, so I might have done something in the past that
leads to this now. I had the weirdest issues in the past nobody ever
had, like, when opening the file explorer, all fonts were changed to
the Windows 98 font. (Just to name one example)

Check your config, look at gui_lang   (if Windows)

    gui_lang    Set GUI language. Possible values are from 0 to 50
(Win32 only).

Config files are stored as plaintext files. They are located in:

    Windows: %APPDATA%\HexChat
    Unix: ~/.config/hexchat
    Flatpak: ~/.var/app/io.github.Hexchat/config/hexchat
    Snap: ~/snap/hexchat/current/.config/hexchat

Take a look at fonts as well.

    text_font   All fonts to be used (main and alternative fonts
combined, shouldn’t be edited manually).
    text_font_main      Primary font to be used.
    text_font_alternative       Alternative fonts to be used for
glyphs not supported by the primary font.

I would just reinstall... And I always compile from source to have the
freshest version... make sure u purge the program and settings... Just
an idea

oh ur on windows? sorry i cant help there, not with hexchat anyway.. I
only know hexchat on linux. im sure its the same thing but did u try
changing to a different font? or instead of uninstalling just install
it again overtop of the existing instalation, that might help but not
100% sure. let me know if i can assist u any
