Clients with CtrlP style fuzzy buffer matching reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- localtoast · 2018-01-18 15:24 Basically, I have enough windows that using Alt+key isn't feasible anymore. I'd like some way to hit a key and just type enough letters to match a window, then switch to it - again, I bring up the example of [CtrlP](https://github.com/ctrlpvim/ctrlp.vim). I'd prefer a plugin for irssi, maybe WeeChat since I was looking into switching. I'll also consider other clients too. (Anything in Emacs though, is right out.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Furai_THD · 2018-01-18 21:34 WeeChat supports such behaviour out of the box. You just use '/buffer ' and it switches you to that buffer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- benburhans · 2018-01-19 03:17 Irssi, I think, as well? My muscle memory knows it better than I do, but I think it's `/window show name`, and I can't remember if partial names worked, or I just got really used to the smart tab completion and hit tab just once every time... I had it aliased to `/go`. So maybe I just used /go #a to go to #abcdef and there was no fuzzy matching. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shobble · 2018-01-19 15:07 You might like my irssi version of [ido- mode](https://github.com/shabble/irssi-scripts/tree/master/ido-mode) inspired window switching. I'm still using it daily, although I haven't actually messed with it in some decent number of years, so no promises how easy to install/configure with modern irssi :p
