Best scriptable IRC Client?

I am looking for an IRC client that can be extended with scripts,
plugins, etc., I was looking into Hexchat, but they seem to be missing
some things I need access to. Does anyone have any alternatives?

Do you want something limited to Windows? Something that can work on
Windows and Linux? Or?

I'm not saying that anything is wrong with it right now. Probably it's
still good. I just haven't used mIRC in 3-4 years. Switched
exclusively to Linux some time ago. :)

NNScript + mIRC 6.3x was one of the best clients I ever had. Shame
that NNScript was closed source and authors went AWOL.

It wasn't the best, it was one of the most popular yes. aIRC, PnP, UPP
were much better and better coded.

this was the absolute best mIRC script, it was also the first modular
script, the ++ version)

I used to test and I was friend with all the developers but personally
I've never sticked with any script, I made my personal stuff and
always used what I needed. I started IRC in '96, still use it
occasionally but let's say reddit replaced my IRC habits for the most
part.
