mIRC 7.51.351 Beta reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ase1590 · 2017-12-08 18:08 It seems crazy this day and age to use mIRC. HexChat is open-source and works just fine. WeeChat is also a fully functional command line IRC client if you're into that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- namenamee · 2017-12-08 18:15 Been using mIRC since ‘96 and I still love it. While I realize there are better scripting handling IRC clients around I still think mIRC is the best, subjectively of course. I don’t use IRC too much anymore anyway, I login most of the times via IRCCloud but I still like to support mIRC where and when I can :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ase1590 · 2017-12-08 18:21 I'd be more open to the idea if mIRC was ever open-sourced. Compile it yourself or pay money to get the .exe, much like [Ardour does](http://community.ardour.org/download_form). I can't use it anyway though, since all my IRC activity is Linux- centric, but then again so is Freenode.
