Awesome IRC - A curated list of awesome IRC resources reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- damiankw · 2017-11-19 04:03 I'm finding it hard to make words out what I'm thinking right now, but basically: You say it's an 'awesome list of resources' but there aren't the most basic, most used and easiest to find things on there. Is this because you don't like those resources and think they're lame/overrated/whatever, or because they're already in the headlights most of the time and not worried? For example: mIRC, AndroIRC and Colloquy are my personal favourites for Windows, Android and MacOS IRC clients and they are usually in the top searches on Google. Eggdrop has always been my easy to configure, reliable bot for the last twenty years. And UnrealIRCd is a fantastic IRCd to learn on and by far the easiest to configure that I've ever used, it's a great stepping stone to move onto other more advanced IRCd's like InspIRCd ---------------------------------------------------------------------- muesli · 2017-11-19 07:22 Everyone's got to start somewhere. Every list starts with the first couple entries. I'm not trying to be snarky, but in the time you entered your comment here, you could have forked the repo, edited the README and sent a pull request. (It's never too late for that) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- damiankw · 2017-11-19 07:27 I know that, but it seems odd that some of the most common things are left off of the list, it seems more intentional than anything and I was wondering what the go was :D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- freefm · 2017-12-03 13:33 I agree, the list is far from comprehensive. A wiki or google doc might be a better way to compile a list like this, so that anyone can add the things they feel are missing, producing a more complete list.
