Is there a way to get rid of this bright grey border in hexchat? (Sorry if this is wrong sub for this) reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Flokiyo · 2017-09-27 01:43 It's just so bright, and distracting. I'd really like to change all that as well to a darker color. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Max-P · 2017-09-27 02:13 HexChat is a GTK app. All of those borders are basically part of the theme, in this case Windows 10's default one. You need to find how to change your GTK theme either globally or this app only to a dark one (or I guess turning your whole Windows dark would also do it). GTK themes are plentiful on http://gnome-look.org/ but unfortunately I don't know how to use those on Windows. Examples: * [Light](https://d.max-p.me/reddit/72p4fu/light.png) (or, [mismatched variant](https://d.max-p.me/reddit/72p4fu/light-broken.png)) * [Dark](https://d.max-p.me/reddit/72p4fu/dark-fixed.png) (or, [mismatched variant](https://d.max-p.me/reddit/72p4fu/dark.png)) This is because GTK is mostly used on Linux where most apps follows whatever style is configured. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A-UNDERSCORE-D · 2017-09-27 10:55 See http://hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/appearance.html#gtk-theme ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Flokiyo · 2017-09-27 16:09 I was there before, and I couldn't figure out where I went wrong. It mentions *\etc\gtk-2.0\gtkrc (with no file extension!)* but I don't have an "etc" folder. I decided maybe I needed to create it, so I created it, and did all the shit needed, but nothing changed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Cobra_Fast · 2017-09-27 16:30 The name you put into gtkrc needs to be the same as the theme directory you copied in there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pedz · 2017-09-27 23:16 Mine looks [like this](https://i.imgur.com/KezYZLF.png) with an onld Tenebrific-BlueMods GTK2 theme. I just unpacked the content of the folder gtk-2.0 into C:\Program Files (x86)\HexChat\etc\gtk-2.0 and replaced the original gray theme. No need to edit the config file. Just restart HexChat. If you want the gray theme back, either backup this folder before replacing its contents or reinstall HexChat.
