Kiwiirc - how do I become admin of channel I want to add to my
webpage's chat room?

I'm incorporating a Kiwiirc chat room into my web page.  I need
control over the room though, in the past people have hijacked it and
told visitors to go elsewhere, as well as other problems.

I can't figure it out.  Is there a guide to this?  I've tried and
failed...

You have to either take control by force, not recommended, or plee to
the channel operators to let you have it. Alternatively if the channel
has no operators you can plee to network operators, or just choose a
different name or network.

I'm happy to choose a different name.  I just don't know how I would
become an admin, and keep control of it permanently.

Is that possible?

It all depends on what network you are on.  If you are on a network
made for chatting, there will be a channel service, usually named
ChanServ or ChanOP. If you register the channel with your nickname,
the channel service will look after your channel for you to an extent,
and make it so you can take it back if it is taken over.

Again, it depends on what network you are on, but you need to register
your nickname with NickServ and then register a channel with ChanServ.

Ask in the #help channel of the network you are on top see how to do
it on their network.

kiwiirc chat room can connect to any server. And it is on the server
that you have to register. For example, I use kiwiirc on kreynet
(irc.krey.net) and there you have to register your nickname. after
nickname registration you can register a channel. So the server knows
you own the channel and nobody else can take over.
