Hexchat "Scrolling" while at high gpu load.

First you see it with the gpu at 99-100% load, slow and scrolling to
update. Then I close the game and you can see it return to normal.

My Hexchat stopped working recently, so I deleted and reinstalled it.
However, it's playing up whenever I am playing game or in high-gpu
scenarios. As in the video, the program seems to "scroll" whenever it
needs to update, either because of new text or swapping between
channels. It never used to do this.

I have no idea how to tackle this. I can't understand why my Hexchat
is so tied into my gpu that it literally crawls to a snails pace when
the gpu is in use.

No other program behaves this way, and until today hexchat never
behaved this way. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to fix
this?

Looks like you are using the background image feature, disable that.
