Do not use PanicBNC services. This is how they treat their paid users reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- youaremyflower · 2017-07-04 17:38 http://i.imgur.com/KIbZ7nz.jpg This is their support for paid customers. I paid for the so called 'premium' services that weren't so premium, their cheap servers would constantly disconnect me almost every day, there would be always some constant error spam. For couple days I kept going there asking for support and complaining, but no one would ever reply and today they finally did reply. Bills your Paypal every month, but treats you like shit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CannedDeath · 2017-07-04 19:50 This is why I just spent $5 a month for a cheap VPS. It does cost more, and it does require about a couple of hours to set it up. But you get pretty much total control, and you don't have to worry about other people abusing the service getting you banned. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ChasedSpade · 2017-07-04 20:35 Hi, It's ChasedSpade from PanicBNC Support. If you're gonna show a chat log, at least have the courtesy to show the entire conversation. Here, [I did it for you](https://gist.github. com/ChasedSpade/761479234ec691520127ebf47179face).   Aside from your rudeness, I attempted to explain to you that ZNC will only throw the *A client from [my_IP] attempted to login as you, but was rejected [Invalid Password].* message if a connection attempt is attempted ([source code](https://github.com/znc/znc/blob/0ce6b7c8ba23e 52445f08a027fe444965e957134/src/Client.cpp#L354-L366)). From your redaction of the IP, it shows you had a misconfigured client which was sending an invalid password to the BNC server resulting in your receiving of that error message. As for disconnections from the BNC server, networking issues happen. This mornings was the first in several weeks.   PS: Being a premium user doesn't entitle you to join our channels swearing about an issue that is user-caused. However, posting on Reddit about requesting help over a couple days when our logs say otherwise is entirely up to you. EDIT: Syntax. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- idoescompooters · 2017-07-04 20:52 I just don't pay. The free service has been fine for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- owlmanatt · 2017-07-04 21:10 You guys are super unprofessional. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zarthus · 2017-07-04 21:13 The only guy being unprofessional holds the cables here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- austindkelly · 2017-07-05 17:40 I didn't care for their service had lots of connection issues. Ended up rolling my own bouncer for cheaper. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ac3QtAE7Jqto48FS · 2017-07-08 09:48 nothing is free in this world mate ---------------------------------------------------------------------- idoescompooters · 2017-07-08 12:01 Um I never said there was? I just said the free service is working fine for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rockintheairwaves · 2017-07-11 04:12 Having run my own ZNC for years, that message is definitely indicating *something* is trying to connect, using an invalid password. Whether it's a misconfigured client, spyware, or who knows what. That said, try to be a little nicer when asking for support. I help a lot of friends etc with this kinda thing and I can assure you asking nicely gets you further with me than swearing at me etc. This also goes for paying customers of mine. Not trying to be harsh, but be a little nicer and people won't go on the defensive like that. And, as others mentioned, you're free to get your own server and set up your own ZNC. That's what I do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yeatiyeati · 2017-07-12 09:25 You guys are pathetic. You think you're entitled to ban and ignore a paying client just because he was rude? You forgot the policy the customer is always right? I can understand his frustration because I'm also an ex user of your 'premium' service which is total garbage. You guys never help and never support, never respond to any emails and your chat is always dead. But you have no problem charging PayPal every month for your broken services. Legit worst bouncer provider I've ever encountered. Also your chat log is just some plain text copy paste, how do we know you didn't edit it? And the fact that you managed to respond to unrelated place in same day this was posted shows you actually feel guilt probably thinking posts like these will hurt your garbage service and will prevent you from scamming more customers. Also well done on botted downvoting. Don't forget to downvote this one too, scammers. If anyone cares I'm trying out right now new project called https://www.xshellz.com it lets you create 2 free shells where you can login with SSH and deploy your own ZNC, etc. Way more professional and people in support chat are really nice and friendly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- anti_body · 2017-07-12 22:47 i agree. sounds like op and /u/yeatiyeati might also be the same individual. it also seems (from the logs) that op is using bnc services without knowing how to use a BNC, so when he gets an error he assumes it's automatically the service giving him issues and not his own ineptitude. i know panicbnc has a link where you can check whether there server is online (if you find yourself disconnected).
