Help with Twitch chat connection

Hi guys, I set up IRC connection just over a year a ago and remember
it working properly. I decided I wanted to try writing a bot for my
channel but I'm having problems already. When I connect the my IRC
channel I am able to send and receive messages for a few seconds
before I can't do either. Anyone able to help me with this problem?

Hi,

Twitch software engineer on the chat team here :)

try typing /raw CAP REQ :twitch.tv/commands

It's possible it's being rejected for some reason, and that command
will spit the reason why back to you. Other than that, not sure.

Try typing /debug @raw to get the raw socket messages, and paste that.
Nothing looks out of the ordinary though.

sure if that's normal

That is not normal. Do you have a script running?

Not that I know of. When I go to Tools > Edit Scripts the only script
listed is script1 which has nothing in it

Going into "edit network" and changing my nick to CustardBot makes it
start saying "NICK CustardBot" as well if that's of any help

Wow, I think I just figured it out, it's because my nick, fullname and
username weren't in all lower case.
