[ZNC] Setting up auto IDENTIFY reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- toinetoine · 2017-06-12 09:53 After searching on the web admin panel for a long time, it seems that ZNC doesn't come with auto IDENTIFY functionality. How can I set up auto IDENTIFY functionality with ZNC? Going without it kind of defeats the purpose of using ZNC for me. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- damiankw · 2017-06-12 10:42 You can probably hunt for a script to do it for you. Remember, ZNC supports compiled modules and Tcl/Python scripts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ne7split · 2017-06-12 12:38 ZNC has an auto-identify module by default. You need to look in the "network settings" (under "Networks" on your user page in the webadmin). The module is called "nickserv" and you should write your password in that box. Alternatively, you can load it with `/msg *status loadmod nickserv` and then `/msg *nickserv set `. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mikertek · 2017-06-13 01:13 I just load the perform module on a per-network basis and do things the old fashioned way. Channels as well. Protip: use MODE %nick% if you need to do a mode change on yourself in your perform ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rockintheairwaves · 2017-06-13 05:58 Some networks allow you to send your nick password as a server password which will then be forwarded to NickServ in an identity command. I use this. The only problem is you can end up with a combination of netsplits and services restarts where you end up no longer identified. I also use the NickServ module, and it seems to work well. It also handles the aforementioned cases where you'd end up no longer identified. I use both methods on most networks. Between the two, I don't seem to have any problems.
