CTCP Internet-Draft reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel_Oaks ยท 2017-05-30 17:35 Hey everyone! If you've used IRC, you've used CTCP. From VERSION requests to /me, it's well-used by clients. However, some of the most referenced CTCP specifications are over two decades old now. They describe features that never actually made it to production (or at least aren't implemented by clients these days), and have information that's flat-out incorrect. This specification describes what's actually been implemented out there by bots, clients and bouncers. I'm hoping it can help new (and existing) client authors to write clean, safe, and widely- interoperable CTCP implementations. Please feel free to give it a read! If you have any feedback or questions please reply, send me an email at , or open an issue on the [issue tracker!](https://github.com/DanielOaks/irc-rfcs/issues) https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-oakley-irc-ctcp-00
