I have been developing an IRC bot recently as a proof-of-concept for
controlling a web page via IRC bot commands.

Currently I'm using my own InspIRCd server, but it would be much
easier to use freenode for the bot.

I have been unable to find any official documentation/policies
relating the use of bots on freenode. The bot will be solely in my own
channel and will not spam/abuse. The bot will be logged on 24/7 and
can take commands from users.

Are bots allowed on freenode?

Yes. My channel uses [Jenni](https://github.com/myano/jenni) and an
anti-vpn bot.

Yes bots are allowed on freenode as long as they are not malicious
