IRC Relay thingy? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael-Bell · 2017-02-26 08:27 My google-fu is failing me right now, but I'm sure this is a very common problem: I want to install a lightweight program on my router (openWRT) or a rPI type machine that logs into any IRC channels I'm interested in and logs everything that happens. Then when I want to join the channel, I connect through my logging program and magically my irssi session has a history of everything that has been said in the last X days or whatever. Then if I wanted to connect through my phone or another laptop, the channel would just see my original logging program as "me" and any of my devices could see history and talk as "me". What is the key word to use when googling this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PhaseOP · 2017-02-26 08:32 A BNC (IRC Bouncer) Such as [ZNC](http://wiki.znc.in/ZNC). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- boo_ood · 2017-02-26 11:17 If you're using irssi, just run that on the rPi (or Weechat). BNCs are okay, but it's often a bit nicer just to have a 24/7 client without the middleman ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael-Bell · 2017-02-27 01:19 Yes. Thank you. I knew this had to exist, not sure how I missed it on the Google results. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PhaseOP · 2017-02-27 12:59 You're welcome :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [deleted] · 2017-03-06 13:43 [removed]
