A one-way IRC relay bot reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 676339784 · 2017-02-24 23:24 I've been wanting to host a one-way IRC relay bot. The bot would be in two channels, say #alpha and #bravo. I would like for the conversation in #alpha to be mirrored into #bravo, but not vice versa. I've found bots that do two-way mirroring, such as [this one](https://github.com/Thynix/RelayBot), but none that do a simple one-way mirror. Is there a way to edit the linked bot or any other bots out there that fit my description that I can use? Thank you very much. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- spling44 · 2017-02-25 01:02 It's very simple in a mIRC client: on *:TEXT:*:#alpha:{ msg #bravo $+(<,$nick,>) $1- } ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Responsible_dad · 2017-02-25 09:43 The bot you linked seems to have support for one way relaying: if mode == "Default": factory = RelayFactory elif mode == "FLIP": factory = FLIPFactory elif mode == "NickServ": factory = NickServFactory options["nickServPassword"] = get("nickServPassword") elif mode == "ReadOnly": factory = ReadOnlyFactory options["nickServPassword"] = get("nickServPassword") So just put mode=ReadOnly in config, as such: [Freenode] host=irc.freenode.net mode=ReadOnly channel=#chan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 676339784 · 2017-02-25 10:22 Ahh, thanks for catching that! Greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Responsible_dad · 2017-02-26 14:10 Yeah... it's not listed in the readme under modes so the author must have missed updating it.
