Using mIRC to log a twitch chat, it is possible to quickly filter out
messages sent by a certain user so you don't have to keep scrolling
down searching for something sent by a user in the logs

If you're looking for a script, here's a short one I wrote:

on *:text:*:#: {
  if ($nick == XXXX) {
    var %x = $1-
    var %y = $time(hh.nn.tt)
    privmsg $me < $+ %y $+ > $nick $+ : %x
  }
}


This would send you a private message everytime XXXX sent a message on
the channel. You could change this to write to a text file. If you're
looking for something which would take your input, search for a user,
and return all of the postings from said user in a window or .txt file
then you'll probably have to write a script. I don't believe that's a
standard function.

Fixed the formatting, reddit is a bit finicky with that stuff :)

Indent the line with four spaces for code formatting.

Ahh okay thanks for this I tried control F but I keep having to scroll
down through all the results I maybe worded it incorrectly I was
meaning so it would filter it out for example
<PA> Hi
<PB> Hello
<PA> Hey.
Then if I search for PA it will hide everything else other than what
person A has said so it will look like
<Person A> Hi
<PA> Hey.  *But I shall give what you said below a try
