Help finding good channels for general chatting on Freenode.

Though I'm not new to IRC, I haven't used it in quite a while (5+
years to be exact, or since I entered college) and I started using it
again for the last couple of days on Freenode. While I managed to find
many great channels devoted to the programming tools I use, which seem
to be packed full of nice and helpful people, I miss good channels for
casual chatting just for the fun of it, not actually technical stuff.
I would really appreciate if you guys dropped some good picks in the
comments.

I know this isn't super helpful, but you can find some interesting
non-technical channels by seeking out channels that start with two
number signs, rather than one. You can accomplish this by searching ##
in the channel list.

Channels like ##politics, ##feminism, ##security, ##hardware, ##crypto
etc are fun places to be.

But for Casual Conversation in general, I'd consider going to
/r/CasualConversation's channel on Snoonet, which I believe is
#casualconversation.

If you're looking for channels try searching a directory such as [IRC-
Source](https://irc-source.com/channels). There are tons of channels
globally so just look up a topic and you're sure to find a few that
may be active. Also if you're on freenode maybe you overlooked
[##chat](https://irc-source.com/channel/freenode/%23%23chat)?
