How do you write scripts for irccloud? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Tha_Wizard · 2016-12-09 20:49 I've searched far and wide, and haven't been able to figure out how. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yunocchi · 2016-12-09 20:51 You really don't, unless you're comfortable with writing tons of code with little likelihood of working. If you need a client that you can extend, I recommend checking out something else on the Desktop platform, i.e. HexChat on Windows/Linux or Textual on Mac. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MuffinMedic · 2016-12-09 20:58 Adding to this - If you want something with 24/7 connectivity like IRCCloud offers, checkout [ZNC](http://wiki.znc.in). It's highly scriptable (including modules for Python and Perl) and a breeze to setup. A small VPS to host it on is about the same as IRCCloud (~$5/month) and you can use it for anything you like (website, ZNC, etc...). It works natively with most clients. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RShotZz · 2016-12-10 14:35 I don't think you can ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Giraffestock · 2016-12-11 01:05 Additionally, if you want both IRC cloud and ZNC, you can use The Lounge https://github.com/thelounge/lounge ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MuffinMedic · 2016-12-11 02:37 The Lounge is fantastic as a 24/7 web interface + bouncer. The downside is that you can't use any other client with it, which can be rather limiting, especially on a mobile device. I actually keep The Lounge running on my ZNC server with an auto-away fork for when I close the window. Gives me a quick web interface to access with all my networks from anywhere + I can use it with any client. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Giraffestock · 2016-12-11 07:24 Auto-way should be merged to master soon! Also, the responsive/mobile view is pretty nice imo, that's why I prefer it over IRCCloud
