Looking for client (preferably web) that keeps history

I only chat on one channel, but I hate that when I disconnect I lose
anything that's said when I'm not there.

IRCCloud was awesome, but $50/yr is too much for me right now. Are
there any alternatives?

So you're looking to log the things that are said while you're
offline? If that's the case, you should probably get a bouncer. It
connects like a regular IRC server and you can use it with pretty much
any IRC client.

Look at lounge. It's a free self hosted web client comparable to IRC
cloud
