Hello I am just getting into IRC's as a whole and I was just wondering
if anyone had any good recommendations for channels to "follow" and
servers to connect to.

Anything is appreciated!

Start with whatever hobbies/interests you have. They tend to be, by
far, the best channels (kind of like subreddits).

Since you're on reddit, Snoonet's probably the best place to get into.

Whatever you do, avoid EFNet.

Place is a cesspool. I love it, but it's a cesspool.

Crushandrun.net has a good general social channel. #cornerpocket

a good irc network is irc.ron-sor.net "OpenLink IRC", we're always
looking for users for our openlinking network, webchat: http://ron-
sor.net/webchat/irc.cgi

i don't know if i agree with this statement. while it's true some of
the bigger public channels can have a lot of trolls and spammers, i
think efnet as whole has never been friendly to new users.

i know channels that have been going strong for more than 15 years but
all are either key'd or private

If you enjoy discussion about Central & Eastern Europe, you are more
than welcome to join the channel #cee, on the Freenode server at
irc.freenode.net. When you join the server, register your nickname
first and you will be given voice privileges on the channel, which are
needed to chat. Enjoy!
