Unless the channel has some sort of bot that automatically ops you
this is the expected behavior.

Yeah, like the other guy said, channel flags are not persistent unless
a bot enforces then upon leave/join, or many networks have chanserv,
or services which enforce channel flags, like opping users.

You'll need to register the channel with ChanServ (Not all networks
have services bots like Chanserv, but Rizon does)
