utf-8 encoding not working in hexchat?

tried to write something in korean there, but all i see is boxes...?
i'm using latest version of hexchat and utf-8 encoding is default
which should read korean properly, but no.

am i the only guy having this problem? anyone happen to know the
solution to this..?

Its a font issue, iirc there is a help doc out there somewhere.
Google around for it.

font i use is consolas... weird, since i type korean this with no
problem all the time.. but will look to it, thanks.

edit: worked perfectly. thanks a lot.

No problem, I had a similar issue with the emoticons constricted from
Japanese characters
