How to add NickServ to private IRC server

Started my own irc server, but i dont want someone to impersonate me
on my own server.

So how do you add a nickserv? How does that all work? I can't find
anything on it.

I am using inspircd.

You need some sort of services  like anope

yeah i've seen this. So it this like a service who already have IRC
bots for me and I just use theirs?

That link it's one of the services you could install on your ircd.

Meaning nickserv, chanserv and so on.

There's also [atheme](https://atheme.net/) and active forks of atheme
such as [Xtheme](http://www.Xtheme.org/)..  There are quite a few
services package options that contain NickServ and more..

No, it's a program you install that connects to your ircd pretending
to be another ircd. Atheme, Shalture, and /u/sinistar7boy 's Xtheme
are typically good starting places for services.

yeah i guess so. so far i just have an irc cop set up and a tmux
session connected to it.
