How do I register a nick and then log-in with it?

I'm on a torrent tracker that disabled me for inactivity but I want to
get back on, so I can only do that by going into an IRC chatroom that
they have, with their own server.

I am put iin a queue but due to ping timeouts and the fact that people
are logging into the room with my name, I get kicked out and can't get
back in with that name, it's a mess (like my run-on sentences).

I can't figure out what commands to type to register the nick, and
then how to use it to log-in afterwords. Could someone help me PLEASE?

Also, where do I type that nick in? On the Server part or on the
actual Channel/Chatroom?

I'll have to just guess, since you didn't mention "what network"
you're on.

Try "/msg nickserv help register" to see the syntax for registration

Try "/msg nickserv help identify" to see the syntax for identification
(login)
