ZNC and missing private messages

So, I have ZNC 1.6.3 up and running for a few months and everything
looked okay up until recently, when I started a private chat.

The problem: Upon relogging, ZNC only sends me the other person's
messages, so I can't see my own older messages after login.

This issue is only present with privates, with channels everything is
fine.

And idea? :/

EDIT: I'm using irssi as a client.

Sounds like a possible issue with whatever chat client you are using,
which you didn't specify.

Take a look at the **Self Messages** section.

I'm using irssi and it looks like it doesn't not support self-
messages.
The solution seems to be building a privmsg module for ZNC.

FWIW it looks like irssi included self message support starting with
`v0.8.18-beta2 2016-01-13` so the v0.8.18 and v0.8.19 releases should
have it.

Looking into this I realized that this self message method is new to
ZNC in the 1.6 versions, so if you have something older than that
(like I do) then this doesn't apply. Not looking forward to upgrading
my bouncer now. :(

I'm using ZNC 1.6.3 so it should work, but sadly it doesn't.
I've build privmsg and privmsg_prefix modules (privmsg_auto fails no
matter what) but still no luck.
It's true my irssi client is 0.8.17, but I also use Hermes which is
listed among the supported clients of privmsg. :(

Did you ever figure this out? I'm in a very similar situation, with
irssi 0.8.19 and znc 1.7

Sadly, no.
I gave up after a few days and just left an irssi running inside a
`screen` session.
Although I recently rebuilt my home server, so I might revisit the
issue in the near future. Leave a msg/reply if you find anything.
