IRC Bot notice when Twitch stream stops? reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- intaler · 2016-03-31 06:49 I've made an extremely simple bot for my friend's stream that timeouts on certain few words, responds to certain questions and has something to say if you mention some certain celebrities etc, and holds some information. I was hoping to make it able to notice when the stream stops and make an action on that event. Is this possible? /ircnoob ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kihashi · 2016-03-31 12:00 You should look at the twitch API. IIRC, there is an endpoint that gives the stream status. You'd need to check it every so often and then note when it changed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jazpermo · 2016-03-31 13:14 Correct. You can make a call to : https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/:channel (replace :channel with your channel name). If it's offline you'll get a null stream returned ---------------------------------------------------------------------- intaler · 2016-04-02 08:03 Oh it's possible, nice! However the only commands I'm capable of are *on:TEXT:*please help me*:#: { msg $chan ok i help u good boy }. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask, but could you demonstrate how one would do this? I really have no idea. I use mSLDev.
