Running a loop in hexchat / python

I'm currently attempting to write my own bot for a twitch channel and
I've come across a problem. I'm trying to check to see when users are
in the channel and the only way I can think of doing this is with a
"while True:" loop.

The only problem is that when I run the script with the while loop
active hexchat crashes. If I take out the while loop and just run the
script once, it's fine. Any ideas?

Try using a [hook](http://hexchat.readthedocs.org/en/latest/script_pyt
hon.html#hexchat.hook_timer).
Can't test it atm, but that should work fine for you. <:

this may be exactly what I was looking for, I just missed it in the
documentation. Thank you for linking.
