Modern IRC Client for Mac reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- seb646 · 2015-12-11 01:32 So, I'm currently using Textual as my main IRC client. I'm beginning to get the "been there, done that" feeling with it and I'm looking for something new with a modern and minimalistic design. I've used IRCCloud, but I'm not a big fan of it. I've seen everything on the app store, and it's not really my cup of tea. I'm looking at shout- irc.com, but it's functionality is a bit limited. I've also tried out Kiwi and again, I'm not the biggest fan of it. Anyone know a fully functional and well designed IRC client for a Mac? :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kaalaaaa · 2015-12-11 01:34 >2015 >using IRC ---------------------------------------------------------------------- seb646 · 2015-12-11 01:44 Hmm? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GreenGully · 2015-12-11 02:54 Texual is the best Mac IRC client I've found which is still getting updated ---------------------------------------------------------------------- seb646 · 2015-12-11 03:55 What theme do you use for it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GreenGully · 2015-12-11 04:12 [Astria](http://i.imgur.com/Om5sMJM.png) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ck2875 · 2015-12-12 00:51 I personally really like [Whisper Dark](https://github.com/theTeddyBear/textual-whisper-dark). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- randomataxia · 2015-12-20 05:59 I don't know if you've bought Textual 5 through codeux's site, or the App Store, but if you bought it from codeux's site, you can have beta updates pushed to you automatically. They also have really great support on their IRC channel (#textual on Freenode). They also take feature requests, and depending on the feature, they have been known to push it out that day. I wouldn't be so quick to dump this client, it's literally the best GUI IRC client on the Mac. I know that sounds like tons of support, I don't work for them, I just happen to love their client (a seasoned IRCop here). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- blueredscreen · 2015-12-20 19:50 > 2015 > Slack releases awesome "brand-new" slash commands > Everybody is excited. > Commands were in irc since 1980s.
