Need help editing a small remote script. reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kelven486 · 2015-08-01 17:43 So a while back I asked here for help with an AutoGreet script. It was able to save multiple quotes per user in a txt file, and randomly pick a quote to say when the user joined the channel. The script is here: http://pastebin.com/gY01rpD9 My question this time around... what would I have to add to this script to make it prefix what it displays with something? For example, lets say user Kelven joins the channel, and the line in the Kelven.txt file is: Welcome back to the channel! But I want it to prefix each line with «WB» Username «WB». For example: «WB» Kelven «WB» Welcome back to the channel! I assume the line I'd have to edit in the code is msg # $read(%e, $rand(1,$readn)) But I don't know what I'd have to change it to... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phate408 · 2015-08-01 19:22 msg # «WB» $nick «WB» $read(%e, $rand(1,$readn)) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kelven486 · 2015-08-01 20:05 Thanks for the help! The $nick part doesn't display their nickname though. It displays as "$nick" in the channel :< ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phate408 · 2015-08-02 00:25 Hmm. It's been a while since I've actually written anything in mSL. I imagined that would work, since you're using it to generate the file name earlier on and **/help on join** uses the same identifier in a msg. Maybe I'm forgetting something about evaluation though. edit: Oh, and make sure there's spaces surrounding the $nick, or use $+(«WB»,$nick,«WB») if you don't want spaces. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kelven486 · 2015-08-02 02:11 I've already tried making sure there's spaces around $nick, still didn't help. However, the $+(«WB»,$nick,«WB») seems to work perfect, thanks!
