Any good ones? I found
[this](https://sciffyedinburgh.wordpress.com/irc/) which seems okay,
but not very busy. Also, it looks like it's for students of a certain
university. I'd gladly take recommendations.

Looks cool but I was thinking of IRC channels :)

I've been searching on and off for months for active channels!

#worldbuilding on irc.snoonet.org has been really active of late and
often has scifi talk. #printsf on the same network is fairly dead but
occasionally has spurts of activity.

I have no idea why it went all bold and big like that.

#test

EDIT: oh okay, that's why. '#' makes the font bigger when placed at
the start of a sentence on Reddit.

Yup, it's markdown for "header" ... and I was not making fun of you, I
just thought it was a funny slip :)
