[Xtheme](http://www.Xtheme.org) is a set of services for IRC networks
designed for large IRC networks with high scalability requirements. It
is relatively mature software, with some code and design derived from
another packages called [Atheme](http://www.atheme.net) and Shrike.

Xtheme's behavior is tune-able using modules and a highly detailed
configuration file. Almost all behavior can be changed at deployment
time just by editing the configuration.

[Xtheme](http://www.Xtheme.org) is maintained by the Xtheme
Development Group which also brings Xtheme networks the
[SWI](http://www.Xtheme.org/SWI/) *(Services Web Interface)* web
panel. -[SWI](http://www.Xtheme.org/SWI/) is compatible with Xtheme
and *most* Atheme forks.

**To date, there are 3 new modules (2 core, 1 contrib) and some bug
fixes that are not offered with Atheme or Atheme forks:**
* (Core) **ChanServ CLEAR OPS** - Allows channel staff with the +R
flag to deop everyone, except themselves.
* (Core) **ChanServ FREEZE** - Allows network staff to effectively
"suspend" a channel, but allow the channel to continue to be used.
* (Contrib) **AdminServ (forked from
[brennie](http://github.com/brennie/))** - Allows a network to have a
pseudo-oper service; allowing for Helpers *(who may not be opers)* to
perfor certain *operator-like* commands, as well as others that are
very effective in network maintenance.
* (Bug Fixes) There have been several bug fixes as well.  See
