IRC client that looks graphically awesome?

I've used Quassel for years and I liked it because the fonts look
crisp and smooth and the colors you can use with it are pretty wide.

But is there anything that uses all of the colors available to your
system to keep people's names looking unique and the client isn't
locked to 16 or 32 colors only? The one thing that has always bugged
me about IRC clients, they just look terrible.

It's all down to personal taste. Do you have a preference between CLI
and GUI? You can parse usernames with colours on a fair amount of
clients with plugins/scripts.

Depends on your OS.

I personally love Textual for OSX

I've mostly used xchat, I had a little bit of a look around on the
LInux side of it, But I do think Quassel is the prettiest for Linux at
least!

I'm tempted to go back to it again, i've been using xchat for a day
now and can't make it look as nice. Not sure why it's an issue for me
but, it is.

CLI(command line interface?) I don't really care how to get from point
A to B as long as the end product looks nice. I have a miRC license
and went through a bunch of scripts for that but none of them so far
have looked as nice as Quassel. I just bought Trillian and going to
give that a try, last time I used it was 2005 or something and it
didn't support IRC that great.

Everyone likes things to look nice, which is why I'm trying Quassel
now :3

Trillian so far looks fantastic, uses less resources then Quassel as
well. Trying to find where to color names differently, seems to have
disappeared in 5.5 and then it will be superior all around.

Have you tried mIRC? It is a little more complicated, but it is a nice
mix of CLI and graphical. plus super customizable and has the ability
for scripting.


For example here is mine that I have running on its own dedicated PC
