I have a very strange scripting problem I need help with. mIRC Scripting doesn't recognize ($nick isOp #) reddit / irc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- telvarin · 2015-04-06 05:47 This is the code I'm working on for a twitch stream. I did not write this myself. It works fine as long as the if ($nick isop #) line is not present. However when I add it, it does the else line, even though I am a mod in the chat. on *:TEXT:!addquote*:#: { if ((%floodtest2) || ($($+(%,floodtest2.,$nick),2))) { return } if ($nick isop #) { set -u30 %floodtest2 $+ $nick On .write quote.ini $replace($2-,|,$chr(124)) | msg # [Quote Added] $+($lines(quote.ini),:) $2- } else { msg # It seems you don't have permission to do that. nickiNira } } The strange thing is, this exact code works just fine when my friend tries it with his bot. Line for line, letter for letter, exactly the same. I'm using mIRC for the bot, and am using msldev to write the code and sync it to mIRC. Could msldev be the cause? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mazter00 · 2015-04-06 12:38 I'd guess it's wrong number of parentheses. Try "[ % ]" instead. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- telvarin · 2015-04-06 21:16 Where would I put the brackets in? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mazter00 · 2015-04-06 22:53 > if ((%floodtest2) || ($($+(%,floodtest2.,$nick),2))) { In this line. Make it: > if ((%floodtest2) || ($($+( [ % ] ,floodtest2.,$nick),2))) { While I think about it... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- telvarin · 2015-04-06 23:15 I'll try that out, though I don't know if it would work. Earlier I tried to make the script run without the floodtest lines and it still wouldn't run, but if I remove the if ($nick isop #) line, it runs perfectly.
