Hexchat -- Way to Filter Specific Users?

Hi. I'm not a Python programmer, and fairly new to Hexchat, else I
wouldn't be asking this question, obviously. My favorite IRC channel
has a number of bots that provide information upon request. This is a
good thing in the main, however it has the effect of making it
difficult to carry on a conversation with the actual humans in the
channel. Is there a plugin I can use to filter out the names of
certain users to another window, rather than just ignoring them?

An exact script for what you want is unlikely to exist of course.

If you are interested in doing so you could modify [highlight.py](http
s://github.com/TingPing/plugins/blob/master/HexChat/highlight.py) to
do this with very few changes:

- Hook normal message events not highlights
- Add a line checking if the nick is your bot

No script needed. Just highlight the people u want to talk to or put
the bots on the ignore list
