It could be a very inactive channel...have you tried going into other channels? - That being said...mIRC is worth every penny..it's the most customizable client out there with a very robust scripting language, and it's been in development for years and years. In the mid 90s, when everyone was on dialup, it was customary for people who weren't chatting to leave, if only because they disconnected from the Internet entirely when they were done. Always- on Internet connections, bouncers, screen, and so on, have allowed people to stay logged on for months at a time, and even forget they're logged in and in a channel. So my question is, are you sure people are talking - there are many channels out there with hundreds of participants, where people barely say anything. If you aren't sure, join #ubuntu on Freenode, which is almost always active, and see what happens. **LOL, though not right now, apparently.
